 note = {application/pdf, 本研究の目的は、ナイチンゲールの公衆衛生看護活動に関する著作の一つである『町や村での健康教育- 農村の衛生』（Nightingale, 1894 ／ 1974）に着目し、保健師活動の特徴を明らかにすることであった。研究方法は、『町や村での健康教育- 農村の衛生』（Nightingale, 1894 ／ 1974）を精読した上で公衆衛生看護活動に関する記述を取り出し、質的に分析した。その結果、①助けたいという関心からわきおこる共感をもって愛を与えつくす熱情、②生活に精通するための長期にわたる密接な友人のような交わり、③五感を動員して実体に立ち向かう能力、④住民がやりたいと思う計画を生活の場でともに話し助け合いながら推進、⑤持続的活動による習慣の変革、⑥保健指導員を支える地区の要人、⑦公衆衛生に関与する保健指導員としての仕事への誇り、の７カテゴリーに集約された。これらのカテゴリーについて現在の保健師活動に関する先行研究と比較・検討した結果、本研究で抽出した７つのカテゴリーとの関係性が示唆された。, The purpose of this study was to clarify the characteristics of activities of public health nurses based on “Health Teaching in Towns and Villages: Rural Hygiene.” (Nightingale, 1894/1974), which was written by Florence Nightingale. Descriptions about public health nursing care activities were extracted from “Health Teaching in Towns and Villages: Rural Hygiene” (Nightingale, 1894/1974), and they were analyzed qualitatively. As a result, the descriptions were summarized to the following 7 categories: ① the ardor to sympathize with community people that stems from my interest in helping others, ② developing relationships to familiarize oneself with the residents’ life, ③ the ability to confront situations making full use of the fi ve senses, ④ promoting speaking and cooperating about the residents’ plan to engage together in living places, ⑤ reforming the customs by continuous engagement in activities, ⑥ enhancing the participation of important members of an area who support public health nurses, and ⑦ being proud of one’s work as a public health nurse who is involved in public hygiene. Finally, we identifi ed the relationships between these 7 categories of characteristics and the current activities of public health nurses.},
